Taylor Swift Meets Young Girl Who's Going Deaf

Deaf News: Australian girl Jorja Hope's wildest dreams came true on Saturday night when she met her idol Taylor Swift.

SYDNEY - The 12-year-old, from Maitland in the Hunter region, lived out a fairy tale on the weekend after the local community came together to help her meet the pop music superstar.

It all started when Jorja found out she has a condition that causes progressive, inner-ear hearing loss and would one day go Deaf.

The first thing she said when she got the prognosis was: "I won't be able to hear Taylor Swift sing".

Her twin sister Chloe was upset by the news and wanted to do something special for her sister, so she launched the social media campaign #HelpJorjaMeetTaylorSwiftSydney.

It went viral and eventually radio station, Nova 96.9, stepped in to get Jorja a "meet and greet" with the pop star.

The moment came to fruition at Swift's 1989 concert at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night - and it was everything Jorja had hoped for.

"She was very, very amazing and very pretty," Jorja said.

"I didn't expect her to be as tall as she was."

The girls took the pop star a gift - Mortels Ugg Boots from Thornton.

"She was very excited," Jojra said.

After the photo opportunity the twins enjoyed prime seats as Swift performed in front of the 76,000 strong crowd.

"It was very, very fun, we danced all night," she said. Sydney Morning Herald‎
